How do extension-style gasket cutters work?

Extension-style gasket cutters rotate around a center pin to cut precise circles. Place the gasket material on a suitable cutting surface, create a small center hole, and position the material over the center pin. Set the cutter to the desired outside diameter and rotate it around the pin to make the first cut. Then adjust it to the inside diameter and repeat the process to complete the gasket.
